Memorials and Tribute Gifts

Honor Someone Special With a Gift in Their Name

If you have a loved one who has been impacted by the National Park Foundation, establishing a memorial or tribute gift is a meaningful way to honor them or celebrate a special occasion, such as a birthday, while supporting our mission. Your memorial or tribute gift will extend the legacy of your loved one and will make a difference.

There are two ways to make a gift to our national parks in memory of someone special or to celebrate a special occasion such as a birthday, wedding or holiday. You can make a single gift through our donation page and send an electronic or mailed card to notify the honoree, or you can create your own personalized donation page to collect and manage many donations all in one place for an extended amount of time.

An Example of How It Works

John and his mother smiling When John's mother passed away, he knew he wanted to do something that would establish a lasting legacy for her. He remembered that during her lifetime she was always praising NPF for its tireless efforts to better the community.

John decided to make a gift to NPF in his mother's name using appreciated securities. Not only will his mother's legacy live on at NPF thanks to the gift, but John also qualified for a federal income tax charitable deduction and eliminated capital gains tax on the securities.
